Newton is a founding director of Ascon Africa. He has more than 30 years experience in the construction industry. His university degree programme was preceded by four years exposure to construction sites on roads, bridges and dams, which led to a good grounding on practical construction issues. During the 18 years with the Scott Wilson Group he has been exposed to multidisciplinary projects including civil
infrastructure, water supply and sanitation and building structures on a diverse compliment of projects. Four years spent full time in Malawi were particularly useful in nurturing management, control, and delivery of highway, road and bridges projects. He has worked with international funding organisations including EU (European Union), WB (World Bank), USAID, DFID and the ADB (African Development Bank).
