Dermot is a founding director of Ascon Africa. He has more than 40 years experience in the construction industry from supervision of construction projects to senior position in a major international consulting firm. After graduating with a BSc degree in Civil Engineering he spent a year doing post-graduate research before joining the consulting firm Associated Consultants where he specialised in the management of industrial and commercial projects. Consultants amalgamated with Scott Wilson to form Scott Wilson Zimbabwe and Dermot was appointed associate and became a partner in 1986. Dermot held several senior positions within the Scott Wilson Group culminating in his appointment as CEO of Scott Wilson Africa and a director of Scott Wilson International Division in 1999. In 2006 he was part of the management buy-out of Scott Wilson Zimbabwe which subsequently changed became Ascon Africa.
